Find and organize
Search, filter, file and tidy your blocks and prompts as your library grows.
This section is for when your library has grown and you want to find things faster or tidy them up. It covers searching, folders, tags, favorites and ratings, the Explorer screen, and the Archive.
The ideas to know first:
- Folders: hold your blocks and prompts, the way folders hold files on your PC. A folder can hold other folders. Each item is in one folder, or in none.
- Tags, favorites and ratings: labels, hearts and one to five stars that help you filter. They are features you can show or hide, and hiding them keeps what you added.
- Explorer: shows blocks and prompts side by side, in their folders, to move, copy, file and delete.
- Archive and delete: archiving puts an item away until you bring it back. Deleting moves it to Recently deleted, where you can restore it for 30 days.
Start by setting up a few folders, then learn to search and filter each screen. When you want to tidy many items at once, use Explorer.
This section also covers the Home screen, a start page with a search across everything you’ve saved: see The Home screen.
Guides in this section
- The Home screen: Turn on Home, search everything from it, and add, arrange and set up its widgets.
- Find anything: Search your whole library from Home, search and filter each screen, find a setting, and sort what you see.
- Explorer: See your blocks, prompts and folders in one place, and open, move, copy, file and delete them.
- Folders, moving and copying: Make folders, file your blocks and prompts in them, and move or copy items and whole folders.
- Tags, favorites and ratings: Label items with tags, mark favorites with a heart, rate them with stars, and filter by all three.
- Archive, delete and restore: Put blocks and prompts away with Archive, delete them, bring them back, or delete them for good.

My PromptMason library is getting big and messy. Explain the ways to find and organize my blocks and prompts, and which guide I should read first. About PromptMason: a Windows desktop app for building AI prompts from reusable blocks. A person writes blocks (reusable pieces of prompt text), builds prompts from them on the Build screen (or keeps a Markdown document, such as a Skill), and copies a prompt into an AI tool, runs it in PromptMason’s own Chat, or lets a connected AI agent use it through PromptMason’s built-in MCP server (the Chrome extension copies prompts on any website). AI assist, Evaluate and Chat use a local model that runs on the person’s PC, or their own AI provider. The guides are also on PromptMason’s Help screen, and Chat can answer “how do I” questions from them. Libraries hold the blocks and prompts; a person can sync their personal library to their other PCs and share team libraries, both through a folder in cloud storage they already have (OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox). Everything synced is encrypted and every edit is signed and checked. A recovery kit (a file plus a code) is the spare copy of the person’s keys, for when every PC is lost. The official guide for this is "Find and organize": https://promptmason.ai/docs/find-and-organize Its full text follows, between the lines. Use it as the source of truth, and if anything I see differs from it, tell me rather than guessing. --- This section is for when your library has grown and you want to find things faster or tidy them up. After each step, ask what I see on screen before giving the next one. - Use the exact words on PromptMason’s buttons and screens, as the guide does. - Never ask me for my recovery code, my recovery kit file, a password or my invite line, and never ask me to paste them here. - Start by asking which step I’m on, or what I see now.
